If you are looking for the absolute best kevlar Jeep, then look no further than this beast. This 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport has been custom built by AWT OffRoad with the absolute best parts available.

To start off this custom built Jeep, we used a 3.5″ Rubicon Express lift and complimented it with Fox remote reservoir shocks. This gave the Jeep plenty of clearance and an agressive look that will instantly turn heads. To keep it tracking straight, a Pro Comp dual shock steering stabilizer was added. But the exterior enhancements didn’t stop there… we made this a kevlar coated keep in black with blue accents to keep the scratches to a minimum.

We couldn’t stop there, so a set of 20×12 Rolling Big Power Assassin II Wheels were added. These wheels were custom finished in Gloss Black with custom blue accents. The RBP Wheels were wrapped with 37″x13.50″ 20 inch Toyo Open Country M/T tires. No terrain is to sloppy or rocky for these tires.

The interior enhancements include custom pattern black leather seats with blue inserts, a Rugged Ridge interior accent trim that has been custom painted blue, and Rugged Ridge black front, rear & cargo floor liners.

Getting to know off road tires, and what might work best for your truck or SUV

mud-terrain-tiresOff road tires are designed for offroading – this is when you drive a vehicle on land that is not covered by tar, such as muddy roads, or snowy roads, loose soil and rocks roads, and other types of rough terrains. They offer the right traction and being the right size, they help the vehicle pass through obstacles properly. The experience of offroading is a wonderful one if your vehicle is equipped with the right off road tires. There are different types of tires, made for specific terrain conditions. These types are:

Off road mud tires: Mud tires or mud terrain tires have the most extreme type of tread patterns, meaning they are chunkier and larger. This pattern is specifically designed to dig into muddy roads and terrains and have a better grip on it. These mud tires are often prone to tear and wear on proper roads because they are made with rubber materials that are more rigid.

All terrain tires: All terrain tires have extreme tread patterns, and they are usually patterned with large and wide spacing so that it can easily pull mud from the tread. These all terrain tires also have a harder sidewall so that they provide better resistance to punctures when offroading.

Getting off road all terrain tires is a great option for your vehicle if you drive off road occasionally. What standard car tires cannot withstand – the off road tires can. Additionally, there is the added benefit of the fact that off road tires make many trucks and SUV’s look much more agressive. The bigger patterns make the tires less prone to puncture, and have a better grip on the surface reducing chances of slips in loose terrain. The taller sidewalls of the off road tires offer comfort to the rider and also provide cushioning to the rim. The many benefits of off road tires make them a great catch for many. However, it is always good to know the various types of off road tires and buy according to your driving conditions than to just buy the off ride tires that look huge and attractive.

AWT OffRoad has trained experts to help you pick the perfect tire to fit your needs. Give us a call at 713-682-1085 or swing by and let us show you them in person!

Like your Tahoe big? We can help!

When our latest customer walked in with a Tahoe, it looked like the half million others that are currently on the road. We saw the potential in this off road beast, and helped them achieve that potential, and save some money in the process.

We simply had a basic 4 wheel drive Chevrolet Tahoe to start with.  While nice, they are very common. Our customer wanted it to stick out in the crowd, and be functional for any off road activities as well. We knew immediately what we had to do.

The first thing on the agenda was to rip out the boring stock suspension, and give this Tahoe some ground clearance. We installed a Rough Country 7.5″ lift and followed up with a perfect 4 wheel alignment to make sure it would track straight. At that point, we had plenty of room to fit a great tire underneath it.

The customer picked out a Ballistic 814 Jester wheel in flat black. They opted to go with the 20×9 size to allow for a slightly beefier tire. We then wrapped those wheels in some 35″ Toyo Mud Terrains, which allows this Tahoe to grip perfectly whether it happens to be on I-10, or the middle of a mud field.

When you get ready to upgrade your Tahoe, be sure to check out AWT OffRoad.
